
Prof. H. N. Prasad
Prof. H. N. Prasad, former Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda Open University, is a distinguished academician with over 40 years of experience in teaching and research in Library and Information Science. A gold medalist in both B.Lib.I.Sc. and M.Lib.Sc. from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), he holds a Ph.D. focused on job satisfaction among library professionals. At BHU, Prof. Prasad served in several key academic and administrative roles, including Head of Department, Professor-in-Charge of the Central Library, and Chairman of the Digitisation Committee. He has supervised 23 Ph.D. scholars, authored or co-authored 5 books, and published over 45 research papers. As Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Information Research, he has significantly contributed to research and publication in the LIS domain. His academic innovations include leading curriculum design for multiple universities, including BHU, and developing a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Manuscriptology. Internationally, he has delivered lectures and conducted workshops in France, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Germany, fostering global academic exchange.
